Sonnet

Our city is drenched with rain today
Sad silence comes to us on rainy days
A gushing wind that sweeps us all away
Feelings not mutual, shall we p’raise

Staying inside all morning and all night
Until the sun comes back we wait and wait
We can only wish for the burst of bright
If sun does not come it just was not fate

Although without the rain there may be drought
Crops will grow and thirst will be quenched
Lives will go on, the rain shall not fade out
For rain is good, not something to be benched

Rain may cause some change at heart but it’s good
We like things like rain, just as we should

  1. Great sonnet, Danae! I like how it talked about how rain can be really annoying, but at the end of the day, it is extremely crucial to life. That made me think that maybe I shouldn't complain so much when it rains.

  2. Really good sonnet! I like how you used a simple topic such as rain and expanded so much on it. Rain has its ups and downs, but no matter what it is essential to life. Great job!
